15 Review Request Templates That Actually Work

Reviewpull Team

The difference between a business that collects 2 reviews per month and one that collects 20 often comes down to one thing: they actually ask. And the businesses that ask effectively use templates — proven messaging that removes the guesswork and makes every request consistent.

Here are 15 review request templates organized by channel. Each one is tested, ready to customize, and designed to make the customer say "yes."

Before using any template, you will need your direct Google review link. Generate one for free with our Review Link Generator.

Tips for Using These Templates

Customize the brackets. Replace every [bracketed item] with your actual business name, customer name, and service details. Generic messages get ignored.

Generate your review link first. Every template assumes you have a direct Google review link. Get yours from our Review Link Generator.

Match the channel to the relationship. Use SMS for casual B2C interactions, email for B2B and professional services, and in-person asks whenever possible.

Track what works. Pay attention to which templates generate the most reviews and double down on those. If you use Reviewpull, tracking is built into the platform.

Never send more than one follow-up. Two total touches (initial request plus one follow-up) is the maximum. More than that and you risk annoying the customer.

The best template is the one you actually use consistently. Pick one SMS and one email template that fits your business, customize them, and make them part of your daily workflow. Consistency beats perfection every time.
